Hello!
I see that you interned at Coca-Cola. This is something I am very interested in as well! I don't know how to get my foot in the door. How did you come across the position, and do you have any tips? I would greatly appreciate ANY advice. Thank you so much! My email is jjjessica00 (at) yahoo (dot) com

I hate to blanket an entire generation. That isn't fair. But my experience with millennials in the classroom is just appalling. I am glad you are different. I think you should should start a movement that would help all the other millennials who just sit in the classroom, criticize, and ask, "what's going to be on the midterm/final?" I mean, what on earth ever happened to passion for a field, wanting to become a competent professional? I know that other faculty in my university are dismayed. I just really want to understand it, and I think I have more patience with it being a "genXer."

I keep an open channel with my students, unlike others on the faculty. I love to hear their comments and questions pertaining to the field, and I answer in a very timely fashion. I gibve them a lot of audivisual stimualtion, and I use the internet to communicate.

Anyway, kudos to you. Please do take my advice and try to sway the others, will you?... Can you let them understand how the professors feel, for instance, when students accost you constantly to ask what's on the test (I honestly cannot believe they can do this without shame!)? Are they aware that previous generations would just simply research what they did not understand? There is no excuse with all the electronic media available today! Are they aware that their queries are extremely insulting to those who have devoted their lives to the subject at hand?

They seem so overly concerned with the grade. Why is it so difficult to convince them that they should know certain information in order to be a competent professional in their field?

Completely flummoxed,

Pete
