This happened a few weeks ago, but I felt like it may be important to talk about. LinkedIN has announced that they are changing the way that groups are managed. They are making it a lot more like Facebook groups because you can:
Send Announcements-You are now able to send group announcements directly from your LinkedIn group to your members, via email. Your announcement will also automatically be posted as a discussion within the group so members can comment on it together.
Put RSS Feeds into Groups-It is now possible to add RSS feeds directly to your group. News items from your feed will automatically show up under the News tab.
Manage Discussions- Group managers now have full control over whether to enable the jobs discussion capabilities within a group. The jobs area enables members to discuss job opportunities without cluttering the main conversation.
Should be interesting to see if LinkedIN continues to adapt other technologies. Do you use any of these new LinkedIN features in your group?
