Do people with jobs use LinkedIn?

by Blake Sunshine on September 2, 2009

I ask this question not to be rude or snooty, but because I am actually curious. Do people with jobs use LinkedIn?

When I was interning last semester and looking for a full time job I spent hours updating my LinkedIn profile. I fed in my blog, wrote a detailed summary of my skills and added every internship I had ever had to my profile. And then, I got a job. It’s four months later and I haven’t touched my LinkedIn profile. Does this make me look bad? Maybe. But I don’t think anyone is even looking at my LinkedIn profile. And even if they are, I don’t really care what they see because I’m not looking for a job.

Is there some sort of statistic about how many LinkedIn users are employed?

Further more, I wonder if Millennials even use LinkedIn, or if they are more comfortable networking on a site like Brazen Careerist?

So fill me in readers, do you use LinkedIn when you have a job?
