Generation Innovation

Some people think that there are no new ideas. But those people just don’t know where to look, because Millennials are leading the way in creating and innovating on some of the world’s greatest new ideas.

The company I worked for recently published a case study about a group of kids at Virginia Tech, who accepted a challenge by the National Federation of the Blind to create a car that could be driven by a blind person. They had two semesters and $3,000 to create this car. The car would need to be able to drive down a curved speed, regulate its own speed and be able to stop in an emergency.

In case you didn’t already know where this was going, the students built this car and according to Virginia Tech, “In the months following the 2008 to 2009 academic year, the Virginia Tech Blind Driver Challenge provided more than 30 blind and visually impaired people of all ages from around the country with the opportunity to drive a vehicle.”

Just another group of millennials changing Generation Y to Generation Innovation.
