I'm speaking at a conference…

by Blake Sunshine on November 4, 2009

On November 14 I am speaking at GenAustin’s Girls Now conference. It’s a really cool one-day event that explores the issues of bullying, body image and being a girl. But I’m actually not talking about any of those topics. I am talking about the effects of social media on self esteem.

With the growing number of teens using social media (5 million teen girls on Facebook, 35% of all girls online have a blog, etc.), the goal of this session is to arm parents with tools to reduce the negative effects that social media can have on girl’s self esteem.

In addition to my session, there are a bunch of really awesome sessions for girls and parents. If you are interested in attending please, please do so and register by Friday.
